COVID-19 Summer Camp FAQ

How has COVID-19 affected the camp?

We are currently closed to the public and wait for the government to provide us with information about when we might be able to reopen again. We have a small staff on site who are following social distancing guidelines as they go about their daily tasks to keep operations running and animals cared for.

Is summer camp going ahead?

It is our greatest hope to run camp this summer.  However these are uncertain times and things are changing day to day. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as we learn more.

We think summer camp will be needed more than ever this year. Children have been inside, isolated from friends and missing all the various ways usually gather. Camp provides them with a place to be outdoors, among friends and mature leaders who will help them grow in social skills and personal and spiritual health.

I have registered for camp already, what is the cancellation policy?

Currently Registered:If you have currently registered your child(ren) and would like to cancel your registration, our regular cancellation policy is still in effect and we will refund your camp fees less an administrative/cancellation charge. If we are not able to operate as a result of COVID-19 and government restrictions, the following options will be available:

Post-Dated Payments:If you have registered for camp and have a payment plan, we have stopped processing the payments until such time as it is clear that camp will run.

Defer Registration: You may wish to defer your registration until summer camp 2021. We will hold your payment until then and honour the fee you paid, even if we have increased our fees for that year.

Make a Donation: COVID-19 has caused us significant financial loss. If you are financially able, you may consider turnign part or all of your registration fee into a donation for this summer. That will help us continue to provide summer camp in the years ahead.

How can you ensure camp will be virus free?

Our camp has been closed throughout the spring with very few people on site. We will be disinfecting all facilities thoroughly before camp opens.

We have always had strong hygiene and health protocols in place and now we have increased them to meet the standards of screening for COVID-19. All campers will be required to submit a screening questionaire prior to their arrival at camp. We will take temperatures as campers register. Unfortunately we will not be able to accept campers with symptoms of COVID-19 or who have been exposed to someone with the virus.

What happens if a camper gets sick with COVID-19 at camp?

We will send that camper home and quarantine campers and staff who have been in close contact with them.

I want to work at camp this summer, should I apply?

Yes, please submit your application to serve at camp. We cannot finalize it at this point, but we would love to know that you are interested in being part of our team.
