Update from the Ranch
A lot has been happening at the Ranch as winter retreat season has kicked off and in preparation for next summer. Here are a few updates about the Wolf Creek site and staff.
News from Onsite
– New bunnies have joined the ranks of the petting zoo! A new enclosure and insulated hutch have been built to house them.
– Jay and Copper, two lovely horses, were recently donated
– The walk-in fridge and freezer is currently being rebuilt and heating is being installed in the maintenance shop (just in time for winter!)
Updates from Staff
Three staff have travelled from a sister camp, Circle Square Ranch Spruce Woods, to act as additional year-round staff at Wolf Creek.
“I came out to Wolfcreek because I believe that camp is an effective ministry to campers and staff, and because I am learning valuable things here,” says Josiah Fisher, one of the three staff from Spruce Woods.
Robin and Barb Exner took the staff under their wing and trained them in proper care of the Ranch. Now, these Circle Square Ranch veterans are getting into the swing of things at Wolf Creek.
“We were blessed to spend time with Robin and Barb, who handed off the site care really well. We’ve been enjoying serving the retreats this fall and seeing the joy and rest that this place can bring.”
Coming in from Manitoba, the new staff say they have “enjoyed experiencing Saskatchewan. It has been a joy to go to a small town or even to Regina and get to know people.” And the wider community has rallied around them as they get acclimated to a new Ranch.
“We were visited by numerous friends from within InterVarsity and beyond,” Josiah continues. “They have encouraged us, supported us, and brought some great fellowship time. Serving here this fall has given us the opportunity to grow more and to continue to be involved in the vision of camp ministry.”
